Yes, Eminem's team delivered a handful of clear containers labelled "Mom's Spaghetti" and adorned with the Shady Records logo for Detroit's frontline workers to consume. The food was actually made by local catering company Union Joints and funded by Eminem, along with the Marshall Mathers Foundation.
Here's what it looked like:
Our #HealthcareHeroes "lost themselves" in the delicious Mom's Spaghetti donated by Detroit's very own, @Eminem. Thank you for providing a special meal for our team members! 🍝 pic.twitter.com/HyKXzzyhJ5— Henry Ford News (@HenryFordNews) April 22, 2020
Thank you Union Joints for the generous donation of meals to support our staff. They served one of their specialties, also a favorite of Eminem, titled "Mom's Spaghetti." We offer our heartfelt thanks and are grateful for the support. #DetroitStrong #ACommunityBuiltOnCare pic.twitter.com/17041kJAb4— Detroit Medical Ctr (@DMC_Heals) April 21, 2020
Does the food photograph well? Absolutely not. Does the name "Mom's Spaghetti" remind us of the "Lose Yourself" line "There's vomit on my sweater already," thus immediately making us think of puke when we look at the food? Yes, yes it does.
But Eminem has pledged to keep delivering similar meals to Detroit area hospitals in the coming weeks.
