"A Night for Neil" will take place in St. Catharines next year
Neil Peart Memorial Celebration Rescheduled for 2021
Earlier this year, an official memorial celebration to honour late Rush icon Neil Peart was cancelled as COVID-19 put a stop to large events and gatherings. Now, organizers have confirmed a rescheduled date for the St. Catharines tribute event.

"We are excited to announce, after talks with both the Peart family and the Meridian Centre, Saturday April 17th, 2021, as the new date for our celebration," organizers wrote in a statement.

Organizers confirmed that tickets purchased for the 2020 event will be honoured for the new date, while those in search of refunds can contact their point of purchase.

The news also arrives alongside a list of artists and special guests confirmed for the event, including David Barrett, Brandon Dyke, Rush tribute bands Solar Federation and Permanent Waves, Dévah Quartet, Jacob Moon, and Hannah Burkholder.

Organizers write, "We continue to work on securing more artists and special guests and will announce them once their re-scheduled tour dates are confirmed."

Peart was honoured in St. Catharines earlier this year with the naming of a pavilion in his old stomping grounds. A bronze statue of the late artist may also make its way to the city.

Peart passed away in January following a battle with brain cancer. He was 67.
