Published May 14, 2019Ride are set to return with their new album This Is Not a Safe Place, and today the shoegaze vets have given us both a new video and a North American tour, which comes complete with Canadian dates.
The tour will kick off in mid-September, hitting up a pile of U.S. dates and some here in Canada.
Up north, Canadian dates include Toronto on September 17, Montreal on September 18 and Vancouver on October 7. Following the band's North American trip, they will then play a series of U.K. concerts.
You can see Ride's full tour schedule below.
As for that new video, it comes for the previously shared album track "Future Love."
The clip was directed by Jacob Hopewell, who had this to say about the video:
I have always been a huge fan of Buffalo 66 and when I first heard the track, the infamous Photobooth scene instantly sprung to mind. This idea of creating something quite voyeuristic, watching people at a party felt really interesting as we could show everything that people didn't necessarily wish to reveal. It also gave us the opportunity to develop a few character plots and twists and push on a few themes that relate back to the band's album title This Is Not a Safe Place. It was a fun one to put together and thought everyone involved really got on board and helped make it what it is.
Watch the video for "Future Love" below.
This Is Not a Safe Place is due out August 16 via Wichita Recordings. The album follows 2017's Weather Diaries, as well as last year's Tomorrow's Shore EP. The upcoming album was once again produced by their Weather Diaries collaborator Erol Alkan and mixed by Alan Moulder.
