Published Jun 19, 2019Sudbury's urban art and music festival Up Here already announced its initial lineup, and now organizers are giving us round two.
Leading the second-wave announcement is urban artist KWEST, who will create a large-scale site-specific installation with Manitoulin Island-based artist One KWE as part of the fifth anniversary edition of Up Here.
In addition, a pile of more musical acts have been added. Among them are the likes of Lydia Ainsworth, Simply Saucer, Jennifer Holub, FET.NAT, the Monsieurs, Nuage Flou, Andy California, Piss Face, Alexandria Maillot and Nuisance.
The RBC Northern Series will also return, offering free concerts by emerging musicians from Northern Ontario in small downtown venues every day of the festival between 5 and 7 p.m. Artists include Cindy Doire, Kutch, Ziibiwan, Brooke Bruce and Greyson.
Other art installations include Delineate by new media artist Daniel Feder, (re)experience by McEwen School of Architecture students Hamza Adenali and Anastasia Renaud, immersive environments by Kristina Rolander and more.
Up Here runs August 16 to 18 in downtown Sudbury. As previously reported, Up Here 5 will be headlined by ESG, Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Milk & Bone.
Festival passports are now available for $110 each. Individual tickets will go on sale today at noon on the festival's official website.
